Values in Action (VIA)
Values in Action (VIA) are learning experiences that support students’ development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the community, through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills. VIA fosters student ownership over how they contribute to the community.
As part of VIA, students reflect on their experience, the values they have put into practice, and how they can continue to contribute meaningfully. This is an important component of Character and Citizenship Education.

P1 students show their appreciation to the cleaning uncles and aunties by penning down their gratitude and concern for the uncles and aunties who had been cleaning their classes daily in the second, third and fourth floor of the school building. At the same time, the students will also try to keep their classroom clean to minimise their workload. The cleaning staff will also share something personal about themselves so that the students can get to know them better. |

Students will get to know what the police officers do in their daily job scope & understand the challenges that they face to keep the neighbourhood safe. Students get to complete a booklet of activities in getting to know the officers’ duties and at the same time know what they can do to help the police in keeping their neighbourhood safe. |
Primary 3 Appreciation of Frontline Workers SBS Transit Bus Captains |
Every year, in conjunction with SBS Transit Kindness Month, our P3 students pen down their gratitude to Bus Captains, accompanied by wonderful illustrations. Primary 4 Eco-Stewardship Programme -Young-Agri Scientist (YAS) Programme |
Annually, Eco-Champs & VIA Agents from each P4 class are chosen to be trained as YAS guides of the sustainability project at Tampines Park. They will then take their classes through a guided tour of how the sustainability project is carried out, starting with the waste food being collected from the community to the vertical farm where vegetables are grown using hydroponics. In this project, residents can use the green currency they get from giving away their food waste in exchange for the Tilapia fish reared and harvested under the project. Students learn how global warming is impacting the earth and how they can help by adopting a sustainable lifestyle. |
Primary 5 Lights of Our Future |
In partnership with JA (Junior Achievement), P5 & P6 students learn about environmental challenges through a series of class-based lessons. They will understand about global warming and climate change, the causes and the steps needed to mitigate and reverse these to ensure a healthier planet. Students will be given opportunities to come with practical and personal day-to-day actions to ensure a more sustainable lifestyle. |
